Founded in 2007, Ningbo O-Better Sanitary Ware Co., Ltd. is a professional shower room manufacturer specialized in high quality shower rooms.
In modern bathroom decoration, the design of shower niche doors not only provides users with efficient storage solutions, but also significantly improves the aesthetics and practicality of the bathroom. However, during the installation of a shower niche door, drainage treatment is crucial. Reasonable drainage design can ensure the rapid drainage of water in the shower area, avoid moisture, mildew and bacterial growth caused by water accumulation, thereby extending the service life of the shower niche door and other bathroom facilities.
Shower area floor slope design
The slope design of the shower area floor is the basis for drainage treatment. It is recommended that the floor be designed with a slight slope, usually 1% to 2%, to ensure that water flow can be smoothly guided to the floor drain. This design applies not only to the entire shower area, but also specifically to the floor beneath the shower niche door. When installing a shower niche door, make sure that the slope of the floor under the door is consistent with the overall slope of the shower area to prevent dead spots where water can stagnate.
Gap treatment between shower niche door and floor
The gap between the shower niche door and the floor is a potential hazard for moisture penetration. To effectively prevent moisture from penetrating into the shower niche through gaps, the following measures should be taken during installation:
Application of sealing strips: High-quality sealing strips need to be installed at the gap where the shower niche door meets the floor. Such sealing strips should have excellent elasticity and water resistance to ensure that they will not fail due to moisture erosion during long-term use.
Gap width control: When installing a shower niche door, try to keep the gap between the door and the floor to a minimum to reduce the risk of moisture penetration. At the same time, the width of the gap should be kept consistent to avoid local water accumulation.
Shower niche internal drainage design
There is also a risk of water accumulation inside the shower niche, especially when storing bath products or cleaning tools. To effectively deal with this problem, a special drainage system can be designed inside the shower niche:
Setting of drainage holes: Reserve drainage holes at the bottom or side of the shower niche for drainage when necessary. The drain hole should be connected to the drainage system of the shower area to ensure that water can drain quickly.
Implementation of a sloped design: The partition or bottom of the shower niche can be designed to be slightly sloped so that water flows naturally towards the drain hole. This design not only helps with drainage but also reduces the difficulty in the cleaning process.
